THE FRIENDSHIP BENCH
Creating a 'Friendship Bench' with a year 3 class - using mosaic, drawing and spraypainting to transform an ordinary garden bench into something special for Artweek.
MAXILLA MOSAIC
As part of the London-wide health initiative Well London, Brownbaby produced a mosaic made out of over 100 pieces, with the children and parents of a local Childrens Centre.
SKOOL RADIO PILOT
Each year Avenues Youth Project get a one-month Restricted Service Licence to broadcast Live on FM Radio. Toby volunteered his time to run a pilot project with 3 schools and 90 children, to produce 9 hour-long shows.
CLIMATE CHANGE T-SHIRTS
Brownbaby worked with a South London Groundwork Youth Project to produce
designs and final printed T-shirts around the issue of 'climate change'.
CULTURE BLAST HEALTHY YOUTH SESSIONS
Weekly Youth Club sessions run by Brownbaby as part of Well London.
Fresh Smoothies, African Drumming and Football to keep young people Healthy, Active and Energised!
WELL LONDON - BE CREATIVE BE WELL
Brownbaby lead a number of projects throughout 2010/11 as part of the pan-london 'Well London' initiative, to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of disadvataged communities.
OXFORD GARDENS MURAL
Brownbaby worked with school children and volunteers to produce a 50-metre sports pitch mural made up of multiple pieces and a variety of materials.
NHS FACTCARDS
Toby worked with 6 West London community organisations to produce a unique set of NHS Health and Information cards and Interpretation Guides, each designed to clearly represent a specific community.
GOLBORNE/PORTOBELLO BRIDGE CONCEPT
A concept (so far) proposed by Brownbaby and backed with local consultation, to refurbish and redevelop a victorian-era iron bridge badly in need of TLC from its local community.
COLVILLE TRAVEL MURAL
Years 1-6 contributed fantastic images of travel to highlight the ways they get to school and move around their local area. Brownbaby produced a unique and playful playground mural using those images.
FOX CARNIVAL
Toby brings his experience to the Notting Hill Carnival streets, supporting the incredible 'Fox Carnival Band' to produce an unforgettable Float experience at Notting Hill Carnival and the Thames Festival.
CARNIVAL 2009
The second year of brightening up the streets of Notting Hill Carnival.
Five Artists, Young & Old, Celebrating Carnival and giving MJ a suitable send off...
1958/59 REMEMBERED
Working with younger and older residents, prioducing a decorative plaque to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the death of Kelso Cochrane and the Notting Hill Riots.
BLACK PANTHER PARTY/BARACK OBAMA
Toby worked with an after-school Art Club to produce work celebrating the election of a new US president and acknowledging the incredible work of the Black Panthers in helping and supporting their community through oppression.
GREAT BRITISH POSTERS
Working with two Year 6 classes to produce framed posters to celebrate Britain, England and London.
CARNIVAL 2008
The faces of nearly 300 young people from 4 schools brightened up an entire street for Notting Hill Carnival - Europe's biggest street festival!
COLVILLE RECYCLED MURAL
A playground mural celebrating the local area and recycling.
Children of the school got in on the designing, painting, stencilling and mosaic-making to brighten up their playground.
200 - THE ABOLITION
