William Wilberforce entered Parliament at an age when modern day politicians are mostly wearing nappies.
He spent twenty years campaigning for the Abolition, acting as the parliamentary spokesperson for a group of British men and women dedicated to ending the Trade in Britain.
The Abolitionist movement in Britain went up, down, left, right,
and all around the houses, influenced by the War with France
and a famous victory at Trafalgar.
Finally the The Slave Trade Act received the royal assent
on 25th March 1807.
